Don Derosa is the Chief Executive Officer at Eonix and a former Department of Energy Innovation Crossroads Entrepreneurial Fellow. He received his Ph.D. in Nanoscience from the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at the University of Albany while studying the structure activity relationships of cations in electric double layer capacitor electrolytes. During his graduate studies, Dr. DeRosa pioneered a new technique to study electrolyte electrode interactions in ultracapacitors and lithium ion batteries with pseudo reference electrodes. He has managed grant funded energy storage projects from the Department of Energy, National Science Foundation, NYSERDA, US Army, and Air Force. Recently, Dr. DeRosa has led the development of the first commercially viable, non-flammable lithium ion battery chemistry at the newly formed Spark Innovation Center in Knoxville, TN.
